He died just before his 33rd birthday, at the top of his musical abilities and the start of his international career. Nowadays, a competition for young jazz violinists has been named after him. He was also an inspiring person who marked the lives of many people. The Krakow-born virtuoso is now remembered by both his family members and jazz stars, not only from Poland. The portrayal is enhanced with unique archival materials from the times of communist Poland, including the ones from behind the Iron Curtain, while animations express the unique character of Seifert’s music as well as its evolution.

 

 


ROBERT KACZMAREK
Born in 1958 in Głowno. Film director, screenwriter and producer. He graduated from the Directing Department of the National Film School in Łódź and also studied sociology at the Social Sciences Faculty of Warsaw University. He is a co-founder of the Film Producers’ Association. His films focus on political, historical and cultural issues. Their leitmotif remains the truth which does not bend under the impact of the mainstream. He has won numerous film awards. President of Film Open Group. Since 2020, chairman of the Council of the Polish Film Institute. From 2021 acting director of the National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute.
