The documentary entitled others presents the circumstances of the formation of the Literary Institute and the publication of the first issue of “Culture” – in Rome on 01.06.1947 – and the further fate of the Institute, which in the autumn of 1947 moved to Maison Laffitte, until the publication of the last issue of “Culture”, just after the death of Editor Giedroyc, in September 2000.
TADEUSZ ŚMIAROWSKI
Graduated from Łodz Uniwersity. Also studied at Film and Photography Faculty at Ryerson Institute in Toronto. He began his film work in Canada. From 1992, after returning to Poland, he has directed over twenty documentaries, such as “…and there I was likely to stay”, “MiastoPowiatAmeryka”, “Child of Freedomi”, ” Spasowski Ambasador”, “Mrożek & Baltazar”, “Kibol”, “Hiranmoy Ghoshal. Borne by Two Rivers” and number of television reportages. In 2008 he was awarded with Circom Regional Grand Prix for “Border 803”.
