A fictionized documentary about great Polish hero of the 20th century. He was a soldier of the Home Army during the World War II. After his time in Auschwitz death camp, where he spent voluntarily two years, he prepared the first report about Holocaust for the Western governments. After the war he was recognized as an enemy of the communist state, and murdered in 1948. For over half a century he was banished from the public life. The filmmakers interview Pilecki’s son and many notable Polish historians.
