This film tells the story of Wrocław (Breslau) seen by the eyes of the first inhabitants resettled there in the post-war period 1945-1948. Their stories reveal not only their individual motives for moving there, but they also give an explanation of the broader, underlying social phenomenon of this mass influx of the population into Wrocław. The reasons were manifold: ordinary curiosity, government orders, and attempts to escape and conceal the wartime past.
Film opowiada historię Wrocławia w powojennym okresie, w latach 1945 – 1948, widzianą oczami pierwszych mieszkańców miasta. Ich osobiste historie odsłaniają nie tylko indywidualne motywy przyjazdu, ale są także wyjaśnieniem szerszego społecznego zjawiska – masowego napływu ludności do Wrocławia. Powody były różnorakie: od zwykłej ciekawości, poprzez państwowe nakazy, po próbę ucieczki i ukrycia wojennej przeszłości.

Journalist, filmmaker. In 2007, he received his Ph.D. at the Institute of Media Education in Catholic University of Lublin. He is the author of books and films related to Lower Silesia.
