A terrifying story about the times of lawlessness and the fear which still helps to protect the identities of the murderers. Right after World War II, near Przeworsk, people returning from forced labour in Germany were killed by their neighbours in large numbers. The propaganda footage from the epoch showing joyful returns from wartime exile is juxtaposed with bloodcurdling accounts of the people who as children witnessed the atrocities. It has been decades since the crimes were perpetrated, yet telling silence is the answer to the question about the identity of the perpetrators…
PAWLINA CARLUCCI SFORZA
Director and screenwriter. A graduate of the London College of Communication (University of Arts) and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, she also studied at the Warsaw Film School and at Accademia Albertina delle Belle Arti in Turin. Her co-directing debut “Don’t Judge” won the award for the Best Documentary Film and a nomination to the Best Polish Film Award at the Grand Off Festival (2017) and to the Jan Machulski Award in the category of the Best Direction (2018).
