This film tells the story of Ignacy Łukasiewicz’s work as an inventor, industrialist, and social activist in the years 1848-1870. Starting as a pharmacist in Lviv, he went on to launch the oil refinery in Chorkówka. The most important world industry would not exist today if not for the inventions in refining technology created by this genius and by his foundation of the world oil industry is Bóbrka in Poland!
MACIEJ WÓJCIK
Journalist, reporter, director. Received a Master’s Degree in Philosophy and History at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. In 2016-17 he attended the Wajda School. He had worked as a journalist and reporter for RMF FM radio, TV Polsat, and TVN. He is the author of many social and historical reportages.
