The story of the life and work of Janusz Nasfeter (1920-1998), an outstanding Polish director – steadfast and defiant – who, for touching on difficult and uncomfortable topics in the times of the Polish People’s Republic, paid a high price for it. After struggling with censorship, he withdrew from artistic life. The documentary features actors playing at Nasfeter’s: Krystyna Łubieńska, Filip Łobodziński, Henryk Gołębiewski, Tadeusz Wiśniewski and Andrzej Nasfeter. The film shows Janusz Nasfeter not only as an artist, but also as a human being – an original personality, a witness to the history of the twentieth century.
