In this warm-hearted documentary about a ten-year-old boy who wants to become the Pope, the protagonist is an altar boy, who wants to audition for the part of John Paul II in a musical. The boy approaches this task as if it was a holy mission, but his parents do not treat him seriously. What is he going to learn.
JUSTYNA MYTNIK
Director and screenwriter. Born in 1988 in Szczecin. Graduated from the University of Edinburgh with MA in Art History and English Literature and from Directing at PWSFTviT Łódź. She has written and directed theatre whilst in Scotland. Her play “Defunct Pig” was performed in Summerhall and at the Fringe festival. Her short films were screened internationally at festivals, such as Clermont-Ferrand, Curtacinema Rio de Janeiro, and POFF. Her documentary “How to become a Pope?” has received an award for best documentary at Warsaw Film Festival, whilst “Apocalypse” was awarded at FEST, Roja, Cinemaiubit in Bytom, and at „Łodzią po Wiśle”. She is a recipient of a scholarship for special achievements awarded by the Polish Ministry of Higher Education.
