The world is a mysterious place when seen through the eyes of an animal. EO, a grey donkey with melancholic eyes, meets good and bad people on his life’s path, experiences joy and pain, endures the wheel of fortune randomly turn his luck into disaster and his despair into unexpected bliss. But not even for a moment does he lose his innocence.

JERZY SKOLIMOWSKI
Born in 1936 in Łódź. Director, screenwriter, actor and painter. Graduated in ethnology, literature, and history from Warsaw University in 1959. Graduated from Łódź Film Academy in directing in 1962. Winner of numerous film awards, including the Golden Bear at the 1967 Berlin IFF for “The Departure”, the Jury Award at the 1978 Cannes IFF for “The Shout”, two Special Jury Awards at the Venice IFF in 1985 for “The Lightship” and in 2010 for “Essential Killing”. In 2016 he received the Career Achievement Golden Lion Award at the Venice IFF and in 2018 – the Platinum Lions Award at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. In June 2022 he received a Life Achievement Eagle Award. Member of European Film Academy.
