BRIGITTE BARDOT FOREVER Opens 34th Polish Film Festival in America!

Saturday, November 5 – Sunday, November 20, 2022

The 34th edition of Polish Film Festival in America (PFFA), the world’s most extensive showcase of Polish film and the largest annual Polish cultural event outside of Poland, will take place from Saturday, November 5 to Sunday, November 20, 2022 in four prominent venues in the Chicagoland.

A new thrilling movie from one of the masters of European cinema Lech Majewski BRIGITTE BARDOT FOREVER will open the 34th PFFA. The internationally-acclaimed artist is known for such great pictures as ”Angelus”, ”Prisoner of Rio”, ”Gospel According to Harry”, ”The Mill and the Cross”. Most of his films were showed in Chicago, and he met the festival public here frequently. This time, he will welcome the audience from the screen.

Mid-twentieth century in the Polish People’s Republic. Adam lives with his mother who is being harassed by the Security Service officials. During WWII, Adam’s father was a pilot in the Battle of Britain, and then he went missing. Parcels and postcards arrive from him, but Adam – who has never seen him – suspects that they are being sent by someone else. When in school, Adam continuously dreams about his father landing his Spitfire on the dusty football field, sending up clouds of dust, and emerging alive, heroic, and magnificent.

TRAILER Truly spendid cast includes young Kacper Olszewski, Magdalena Rozczka, Weronika Rosati, Andrzej Grabowski, and Joanna Opozda in a title role (personally picked up by famous French actress). Script was written by Lech Majewski, who also composed the score together with Jozef Skrzek, and produced the movie.

The Official VIP Opening Night Gala Screening will take place on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 8:00 P.M. in AMC NewCity 14 (1500 North Clybourn Ave. by North Ave. in Lincoln Park, Chicago). Parking is discounted with validation. The Opening Night Gala Reception with stars of Polish film in attendance will proceed the screening from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. at the Society for Arts (1112 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago). Free parking is limited. Outstanding local musicians will perform. The Opening Night invitations are completely SOLD OUT.

The Closing Night Gala and Award Ceremony will take place in the same auditorium on Sunday, November 20 at 3:00 P.M. Invitation costs $ 35.00 and can be purchased HERE

In addition to AMC NewCity 14, regular PFFA screenings will be held in well-known AMC Rosemont 12 (9701 N. Bryn Mawr Ave., Rosemont), AMC Village Crossing 18 (7000 N. Carpenter Ave. by Central Ave., Skokie), and Gallery Theatre (1112 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago), the festival’s primary location for showings of documentary films.
