SO FAR AWAY, SO CLOSE

This film presents a view of the history of the founding of the State of Israel as it affects a single man’s life. The authors seek to understand the influence of the emotions and experiences of eminent individuals on that historical process. Narration of the documentary is based on a Shevah Weiss’s personal and emotional story about the participation and importance of Polish Jews in establishing the State of Israel.

MACIEJ DUTKIEWICZ

Born in 1958 in Krynica. Director, screenwriter. He graduated from the Directing Faculty of FAMU in Prague (1986) and did postgraduate studies at in Film and Theatre at the Toronto’s York University (1989). Creator of award-winning films, m.in. “Night Graffiti”, “Fuks”. Director of hit TV series (“Defect”, “On the Edge”, “On the Edge 2”, “Father Matthew”). Member of the Polish Film Academy.
